 The Northwest Territories Massage Therapy Association ( NWTMTA ) is a professional, non-profit association dedicated to fostering and promoting high standards in this branch of health care. As a member-run association, NWTMTA continue to advance and advocate for the legislation and regulation of massage therapy in the north. Though there are no current requirements at the government level, NWTMTA members carry liability insurance, have all received at least two years of training at an accredited institution, have passed a competency exam, and are required to obtain continuing education credits.
